We had a fantastic rehearsal last evening at Wayne. The choir sounds wonderful. The repertoire is fantastic. Our guest conductor, theologian, and composer John Ferguson will be with us soon. This is shaping up to be a fantastic event. Everyone should reach out to everyone they know and tell them about this opportunity!

I realize some people really hate midi playing, but for those who can tolerate it, How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place is available, in parts, on <a href="http://www.cyberbass.com">www.cyberbass.com , (http://cyberbass.com/Major_Works/Brahms_J/brahms_requiem.htm ) and maybe that would help some people, too. John Sall introduced our Oratorio Choir to this several years ago, and it has been helpful. Directions for that:

On <a href="http://www.cyberbass.com">www.cyberbass.com, go
to the list of Major Works, click on Brahms, then on the German Requiem, and then on Movement #4, Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen, then on your part. Use the “radio controls” that pop up to play, pause, etc. It’s a midi file, so you don’t have to worry about following the German, but it will give you your actual part instead of everyone together.

Joyful singing!

I am so excited that we are doing this again. The conducters are wonderful, patient, and I am absolutely amazed at how they handle the volume of voices.
The teaching ability of these people is
amazing, in that their technique really brings out in me an understanding of the
notes, character, and "roadmaps" of a given piece. I really like the music that we are singing for this concert.

Thank you, Linda, for the awesome pictures! I am on an OJC 'high', humming and singing the alto parts of the glorious music. What a thrilling and inspiring concert!!! What a perk to have a mini choral singing clinic with Anton. I applaud the dedicated fascilitators of this huge, unique undertaking. I feel so very blessed to have had the opportunity to sing praises to our God with this talented group of singers in the beautiful Verizon Hall...it is a memory that will stay with me forever. THANK YOU!!

I have been amazed that at every rehearsal I've made a connection with someone new or someone who I "knew of" but had never had a chance to really meet.

I'm from Warminster Pres. and I enjoyed seeing people from Doylestown Pres. at the Wayne rehearsal who I was hoping to see in July at the PAM conference in western PA.

Warminster Pres. also hosted the Presbytery Mtg. in July and so I saw many people who were at the Abington rehearsal as well as the Presbytery mtg.

At the Bryn Mawr rehearsal I ended up sitting next to someone who used to be my pharmacist and we had a great time singing next to each other and planning to meet between rehearsals. I was also surprised and pleased to see Tim Evers working as Jeff's assistant at Wayne. (Tim was previously at St. Paul's Lutheran in Doylestown and I didn't know he had relocated.)

Finally, at the first COM rehearsal, I ran into someone who I had gone to school with at Temple University. We introduced ourselves and he recognized my last name and my memory "clicked" and I knew who he was. We had a brief talk about our college years and what a great time it was. I also got to sit next to a couple of basses from Wayne Pres. who had lots of comments about Jeff (all good).

I wonder what connection I'll make at the next rehearsal? I know I wouldn't miss it for anything.

Dave Sathra, Warminster Pres.
